A BIGGER and better Easter egg hunt in Tavistock Pannier Market over the weekend attracted more than 300 children with the perimeter shops this time taking part as well as the market traders.

Organised by Caroline Raw of All Sewn Up and Wendy George of Georgi M Shoes, the hunt took the participants around the market, where as well as finding eggs, they were treated to free gifts. The winner of the hunt was Alice Cocker.

'We had a fantastic response,' said Caroline. 'People went to parts of the market they had never seen before and that was the idea because it was about promoting the market as well.

'There were screeches of delight coming from around the market each time a child found something and it was great. I would like to thank all the traders and shops for getting involved.'

An Easter bonnet competition was also held on Saturday involving the traders and some of the customers.
