PUPILS from St Andrew’s Primary School recently bid a fond farewell to members of staff.

The end of summer term saw the retirement of not only the headteacher Julie Tailyour, but also foundation teacher Naomi Beck, teaching assistant Jane Lear along with trainee teachers moving on in their careers.

Mrs Tailyour had been teaching at the school for more than 20 years, including the last five years as headteacher.

Mrs Tailyour was presented with an afternoon celebration of songs from the children along with a ‘Jesus Loves You’ hot air balloon inflation from Trinity Balloons — arranged by the school staff.

‘It’s such a great community school — it has been a privilege to work at the school,’ she said.

She leaves behind a successful and high achieving school with a fantastic staff team and everyone wishes her well in her retirement.
