NETBALL?S ?block fixture? against West Buckland School took place at Kelly last Saturday.

In the 1st VII game, the pressure of maintaining their unbeaten season was showing. By half-time, the team were leading 15-8 and had begun to settle.

They maintained this approach and completed the match with a flourish - Jo Hollick and Katy Renouf were particularly effectively in front of goal. The final score was 28-14 to Kelly.

The 2nd V11 had a different game altogether. After an evenly matched the first quarter, the score was 5-4 to Kelly?s opponents. Emily Wilson played well as Goal Shooter. Kelly were 14-13 in the lead, but things took a nose dive with the defence going to pieces.

West Buckland recognised the weakness and at the final whistle, the score was 23-19 to them.

Two junior teams (U15s and U14s) were less successful. They have yet to begin to play as a team ? as a result, both games were lost.

In the U15 game, Toni Fulton and Lizzie Saunders played well but did not receive the necessary support.
