ON June 15 at 7.30pm the acclaimed East Cornwall Bach choir, conducted by Simon Ible, will be performing at Buckland Abbey.
The concert celebrates the creation of the new Elizabethan Garden. If the weather permits the choir will sing Elizabethan madrigals in the new garden, before moving into the atmospheric surroundings of the 14th Century tithe barn.
Michael Coxson, property manager at Buckland Abbey, said: 'This concert marks the start of a very exciting summer at Buckland Abbey. Simon Ible has put together a wonderfully varied programme of music for the evening, which includes madrigals by Dowland and Bird, religious music by Bruckner and folk songs by Vaughan Williams.
'The great barn at Buckland is a magnificent venue for concerts and I look forward to welcoming this talented local choir to Buckland Abbey for what should be a memorable evening.'
Pre-concert meals can be reserved at the restaurant. To book tickets or for further information telephone Buckland Abbey on 01822 853607.
