COMMUNITY and voluntary groups in the West Devon part of the Dartmoor area can now get help on accessing funding and grants thanks to the creation of a new post. Okehampton and Tavistock Councils for Voluntary Service (CVS) have appointed a funding advice worker for two days a week to cover the West Devon part of Dartmoor. Funding to make this scheme possible has been made available by the Dartmoor Sustainable Development Fund. The new adviser is Jenny Coleman, who has been involved with the voluntary and community sector for the past 20 years and has been working in Princetown for the last four and a half years, securing funding for various projects there. Jenny is happy to come and visit groups individually, but there will also be opportunities to attend small village-based advice sessions as well as a larger funding event planned for next April where groups will have the opportunity to engage with potential funders. Any group ? whether affiliated to the CVS or not ? based in the area can contact Jenny through either of the CVS offices: Tavistock on 01822 618224; Okehampton on 01837 55047; direct on 07815 318902 or by e-mail [email protected]">[email protected]
