Gunnislake 3

St Mawgan 3

ANDY Brenton made his league debut and this allowed Mark Southcott to relinquish goalkeeping duties and pay outfield. Steff Kelly moved in to central midfield and had an excellent match alongside Steve Cribb.

Dean Martin, Andy Wakem, Lee Douglas and Tom Wakenshaw joined the injured Stuart Wakenshaw and Andy Southcott on the unavailable list.

The home side took the lead on ten minutes with an excellent goal by Matt Avery who finished well from the left corner of the penalty area after going past two defenders. Within minutes the visitors equalised. As half time approached Dave Yorath sent in a good low cross and Jarryd Kelly scored from close range.

Kelly grabbed his second on the hour when he calmly slotted past the keeper.

Mawgan reduced the arrears on 70 minutes when a mix-up in the home back line left an easy opportunity.

Five minutes later the match was all square when poor marking left a visiting centre half with a free header eight yards from goal.

This Saturday Gunnislake are away to Boscastle for a 2.30 kick-off.
