DETECTIVES have released an e-fit (right) of a man wanted in connection with a serious sexual assault on a woman in the Kelly Bray area.

The incident occurred sometime during the evening of Thursday, January 20 and the early hours of Friday January 21.

Police said during this time a woman, aged in her 50s, was walking along the A386 from the Roborough area of Plymouth towards Tavistock when a silver coloured vehicle stopped and the male driver offered her a lift.

The driver then drove to an isolated location in Kelly Bray where he sexually assaulted the woman, officers said.

The man then drove for some distance with the victim still in the vehicle, and eventually to Roborough where she managed to escape the vehicle.

The suspect is described as a white man, aged in his 20s, approximately 5' 10" in height, average build, with short blond hair, blue eyes, a rounded face and wearing blue jeans with a white tee shirt, and wearing a gold wedding ring.

Police would like to hear from anyone who either saw the victim walking along the Tavistock Road during the evening or has information regarding the identity of the suspect.
