CHILDREN, staff and families had their feathered friends at the ready for the St Andrew's Primary School annual Duck Race over the bank holiday weekend.

The duck race coincided with the spring fair which boasted various stalls, refreshments, and various fun activities, including a duck shy, crockery smashing, roller coaster, bouncy castle, and the Drake's Dash fun run.

The event was organised by the PTA to raise funds for the school.

Chairman of the PTA Sharon Mitchell said: 'It was a really successful day.

'We raised about £2,000 and we are really pleased with that amount.'
