SOME of the UK's leading textile traders will be taking part in a major indoor trade fair in West Devon later this month, that will be the first of its type to be held in the West Country.
Duchy Square Centre for Creativity in Princetown will play host to Textile Trade Fair, designed to connect major suppliers of textile materials from across the country with existing textile practitioners and those wishing to take up the craft.
The event is testament to Duchy Square's growing reputation as a centre of excellence for textiles through its series of textile day networking sessions, held on the last Friday of every month.
The centre's operator, creative consultancy Integria Ltd, is charging £10 a stand to attract as many traders as possible from both the South West and across the UK to the textile fair, which is already creating widespread interest and is set to be one of the key events in the textile calendar.
The fair will take place shortly after Wool Week (October 11-17), in which those involved in the textile trade both locally and nationally are hoping to re-ignite interest in the sustainable and fashionable qualities of wool, championed by the Prince of Wales, against a backdrop of falling demand and prices for the fabric.
The Textile Trade Fair will take place on Friday and Saturday October 29 and 30, 10am to 4pm.
