THIEVES stole drugs from a vehicle parked in the centre of Okehampton in an early morning break-in last week. A motorist parked his vehicle in Fore Street, just after 6.30am on Wednesday, September 27, it was broken into and his medication stolen from the front seat. All the medication was in a Lloyds Chemist bag and included Morphine, Diazapam, Tegretol, Lamotritin, Paracetamol, Ibrufen, Aspirin and Rinition. Anyone who may find these drugs discarded or has information about the theft is asked to contact the police on 08452 777 444 quoting log ref 123 27/09/06. Police are also issuing a warning to drivers. PC Sharon Newman said: ?We are always asking drivers not to leave valuable items in their vehicles. I?m sure people think that to mean handbags, purses and audio equipment but drugs are ?very valuable? to certain sections of the community but also very dangerous to others, so we would ask drivers to consider leaving nothing in view in their vehicles at all.?
