A FUNDRAISER that required real mettle has raised £10,000 for charity. Forty-five fundraisers undertook the daring challenge of the Dartmoor Drop abseil from Meldon Viaduct on September 6 and 7 to raise money for cancer charity CLIC Sargent. CLIC Sargent fundraising manager for Cornwall, Georgina Reed said: 'We're so pleased that so many individuals and teams really pushed themselves to participate in the Dartmoor Drop. We are delighted for the support that we have seen from so many people. 'Every day ten children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer and CLIC Sargent is here to provide vital support from diagnosis onwards. 'The Dartmoor Drop was a great opportunity for people to enjoy the adrenaline rushed activity and raise money to support children and young people with cancer. 'CLIC Sargent would like to thank all those who participated or supported the Dartmoor Drop including; Tamar Foods, St John's Ambulance, Over the Edge Adventure, Lifeline Medics, all volunteers and Adventure Okehampton.'
