THE Rolling Stones have proved age is no barrier to making great rock music. A band of talented and enthusiastic South Devon rockers who got together earlier this year are also demonstrating that experience counts when it comes to thrilling audiences — which they will set out to do in Tavistock this weekend. Drivetrain are a five-piece group specialising in classic rock who describe themselves as all 'keen 50-somethings with an enthusiasm for rock music'. Guitarist and vocalist Phil Cornish, originally from Tavistock, said: 'Although a couple of us played in bands some 30 odd years ago, and we have each maintained a keen personal interest in music, none of us had performed in public for many years until Drivetrain was formed.' The group consists of Kim Knapman, on bass guitar, Pete Morris, lead vocals, drummer Steve Lewis, and guitar and vocalists Paul Maasz and Phil. Catch Drivetrain at The Tavistock Inn on Saturday November 25.
