A DRIVER was trapped in an articulated lorry that was involved in an incident on the A30A between Sourton and Stowford Cross just before 12.30am on Tuesday morning.

Crews from Okehampton, Hatherleigh and the heavy rescue tender from Middlemoor attended the incident where a lorry had jack knived in the road with the driver still trapped inside.

Efforts were made to release the driver using powered rescue tools.

The driver was taken to hospital by land ambulance. The police were also in attendance.

The Highways Agency attended the location with snow ploughs due to the weather conditions in the area.
