A LORRY carrying 17 tonnes of straw overturned last Wednesday (September 15) at Shepherds Bridge near Bow.
The driver suffered cuts and bruises, but was released from the vehicle before North Tawton?s fire brigade arrived at the scene shortly after 6.30pm.
Firefighters were at the scene for around four hours, removing debris from the highway before it could be re-opened.
The Devon Air Ambulance was called but was not required.
l A ROAD traffic accident involving two cars caused disruption on the road between Copplestone and Winkleigh on Monday, September 20.
The accident which happened at around 5.30pm was attended by fire crews from North Tawton and Chumleigh.
The crews were engaged in clearing the highway of debris for around an hour and a half.
