FOUR Lifton businesswomen have joined forces to organise a 'fabulous' fundraising event in aid of Lifton's new community centre on Friday March 5.

Hosted by Lifton Hall Hotel, the Sex and the City-inspired shopping and party night will have cocktails, a New York deli-style buffet and the opportunity to hit the dance floor with some cosmopolitan moves.

Elizabeth White, one of the organisers, said: 'We wanted to give people a good excuse to dress up and get down while raising funds for our new hall.

'The evening begins with a shopping opportunity designed for — but not exclusive too — the ladies.

'We envisage that the men will be taken care of in the bar while the girls browse the plethora of chic and stylish stalls in the shopping boutique area, then at 9pm the stalls will disappear and the disco will begin."

Natalie Shute, who has been publicising the event, said: 'We have arranged a professional photographer to be available on the evening to take portraits of guests in their best outfits, we hope that this will be a night to remember.'

Emma Durrant added: 'The whole village appears to be very excited about this party and with tickets selling fast we are anticipating a huge success.'

Tickets are available from Lifton Hall on 01566 784 863 and cost £15 each.

Mandy Kenyon encouraged everyone to come and join the fun.

'We are looking for a few more prizes for our big raffle and I have given up biscuits so that I'll be able to get into my party dress!' she said.
