A FOUR-year record could be in jeopardy for a Tavistock superstore team when they take on the might of a team laced with internationals. 'The Dream Team,' a bunch of football enthusiasts who all work for the Morrisons superstore in Plymouth Road, are now in 'training' for their next big match against the Tavistock Veterans at Langsford Park, on Sunday, February 18. The team, who pride themselves on never training but talking tactics in the pub, are not afraid to gamble their unbeaten record against an experienced team. The Tavistock Veterans field two players with international experience — Israeli Aaron Fadida and New Zealander Peter Henry. The Dream Team want to hold onto their unbeaten four-year record, although manager Simon Whitehead does admit that in that time they have only played 13 matches. Simon, 32, who had to limit his appearances on the field due to a knee injury, said: 'The lads are looking forward to this one. 'The Vets have a very experienced line up and a team that know what they're doing but we want to hold onto that record.' The Dream squad include captain Phil Cowling, Seb Krotke, Ian Collicott, Matt Dudley, Alex Christopher, Ian Sharland, Wayne Cornish, Joe Hodgkiss, Jack Yeo, Hayden Calder, Eric Turner, Simon Gliddon, David Byes, Charlie Roberts, James Agiss, Adam Hicks, Ali Trotter and Mark Gibbings. Among their conquests so far are the Morrison superstores at Totnes, Plymstock, Plymouth Outland Road and Newquay as well as the Walkhampton Inn and the Cornish Arms, Tavistock. Simon told the Times: 'The odds are stacked up against us, but hopefully this superstore team can pull something off the shelf.'
