A CORNUCOPIA of talent will be on display next week when a group of local artists stage an exhibition at Gulworthy?s Horn of Plenty country house hotel.

Tamar Valley Artists have been working together on the ?Drawn to the Valley? project ? an enterprise aimed at highlighting the work of professional artists at work in the region.

Peter Gorton, of the Horn of Plenty, said: ?We are delighted to play host to this exhibition.

?We are always keen to support the local community and when I was first approached by Lisa Stanzl, the ?Drawn to the Valley? project co-ordinator, I ? like many ? was unaware of the extent of artistic talent within the Tamar Valley.?

Peter, who is himself a keen painter in his rare moments of spare time, said: ?Great art is a further asset the area has to offer visitors and it is wonderful that guests to the hotel and restaurant will be able to discover another of the hidden treasures of the Tamar Valley during their stay with us.?

The exhibition will feature a range of artists working in every imaginable medium, from paintings by Mary Gillett, Rita Smith, Paul Cain Smith, Carol Banks and Colin Pethick to 3D works by Gill Mannings Cox and Melanie Guy.

The exhibition is open between 11am and 6pm on Tuesday August 24 and everyone is welcome to go along.

There is also a sculpture trail currently being exhibited at Mount Edgcumbe House in Torpoint and a Tamar Valley open studios event is planned for the start of next month with details available by calling Lisa Stanzl on 01579 351681.
