Kelly College pupil Rebekah Hainsworth has gained a place to study at 'Arts Educational London' whose principal is Andrew Lloyd Webber.
During her time at Kelly, Rebekah secured leading roles in productions of 'Macbeth' and 'Grease', as well as summers working with the 'Youth Music Theatre' which incorporated performances at the Edinburgh Fringe.
She was an active member of the college's performing arts department, often sharing her knowledge and skills to younger pupils as part of the college's peer mentoring system.
Rebekah's audition consisted of drama, singing and dance workshops; a general entrance exam; an individual drama audition; one performance of a song from a musical and a dance piece that she had choreographed herself. After all this, she had an interview with a selection panel.
As the selection process suggests, demand for this school is very high. On average, they have over 1,000 people apply for only 40 positions.
Mr Balfour, Kelly College's head of drama said: 'Rebekah has always had a professional approach to her work in drama and I am really excited for her.
'She can look forward to two years of very hard, but extremely enjoyable study at one of the top theatre schools in Europe.'
