YELVERTON?S tourism group, Drake?s Dartmoor, held its annual social evening at the Leg O?Mutton Inn last week to celebrate another successful year of promoting the area. Among invited guests were mayor of West Devon Christine Grills, mayor of Tavistock Jenny Metcalf and chairman of West Devon Borough Council David Incoll. A donation by Andy Hext, of Rogers of Plymouth, made sure that the evening got off to a good start with a glass of wine. A raffle took place to benefit the Save the Dartmoor Pony campaign. The group were proud to show their guests the updated local walks leaflet, designed by local resident John Hughes, which has been improved to include more information about the environment, archaeology and some historical events. Visitors also previewed a new promotional leaflet which will be sent out shortly to every household in the area, within the spring edition of the Buckland Monachorum parish magazine. Any business in the Yelverton area, however small, is welcome to join the group. Information is available on the website http://www.drakesdartmoor.co.uk">www.drakesdartmoor.co.uk
