THE chairman of West Devon?s parliamentary constituency, Dr Judy Evans, will stand as a Liberal Democrat against Gary Streeter MP at the next general election.
Dr Evans, a former plastic surgeon at Derriford Hospital, was selected as prospective parliamentary Liberal Democrats candidate to contest the South West Devon seat by party members in Ivybridge last weekend.
Dr Evans, who still practices in the region, is well known as a consultant surgeon and for her work on the prevention of skin cancer.
She has been married for 22 years and has two grown up children.
She said: ?I want to use all my skills and drive to make sure we return a Liberal Democrat as the next Member of Parliament for this constituency.?
