MEMBERS of the Dartmoor Downhill Mountain Bike Team have been celebrating their latest successes after scoring high in regional and national events this year.

Ashley Mullane from Plymouth finished second overall in the National Points Series in the expert category, as well as beating many of the UK's fastest riders in round one of the World Cup.

Next year he will race in the Pro Elite category, which will feature the top 30 riders in the country.

The rest of the team have been achieving impressive placings in the Southern Series and National Points Series including James Scawn who finished 12th in the senior category of the southern despite missing the last two rounds.

Richard Bedford, who missed two out of five rounds in the nationals, finished 15th with a fifth placing in the southern series. Mike Tweedie raced in the youth category and achieved 11th overall in the southern series and 27th in the nationals.

The team is now co-sponsored by a new clothing company Immature Clothing and Dartmoor Cycles, which are both Tavistock based.
