SOUTH Tawton Primary School celebrated a double win at the OCRA Castle Drogo Cross Country meet.

South Tawton girls' team and the South Tawton boys' team both won the cross country event at Castle Drogo and were delighted to return to school with their medals and trophies. Over 200 primary children took part in the event which was first held in 2014 organised by OCRA in conjunction with the National Trust.

South Tawton Primary did not take part last year and coaches Tracey Webber and Debbie Bryant were particularly pleased that both teams won despite being newcomers.

The 1.5m circular course was set up around the grounds of Castle Drogo and included stunning views on the estate drive, paths, tracks and grass areas as well as a steep drop.

After the races, all the children were invited to take part in a fencing taster session.
