Donkey chariot racing the focus of attention

A DONKEY derby is being held in Chagford later this month, with the spectacular sight of donkey chariot racing likely to be the focus of attention.

This is the third year the donkey derby fun day has been organised. Other attractions on the day include a barbecue, bouncy castle, coconut shy, terrier racing and donkey rides. This year, a donkey race for children will mark the day?s finale.

The event is in aid of Mid-Devon Hunt, with a slice of the profits also being donated to Devon Air Ambulance. It takes place in the Chagford Showground Field at Sandy Park on Saturday, August 23.
