A ROYAL Marine from Tavistock recently attended a garden party at Buckingham Palace.

Dom Lovett was one of a number of injured servicemen and women who enjoyed tea on the lawns of Buckingham Palace at a garden party, organised by the 'Not Forgotten' Association.

Dom, 21, was paralysed from the neck down after an accident during an Arctic training exercise in Norway last year.

Despite celebrities being at the event, Dom said what he liked about the party was meeting world war two veterans.

'It was a great event,' he said. 'I had a lot of fun — it was a great day for everyone involved.'

The garden party was a good opportunity for the veterans to talk with each other about what they did while in the services.

Dom said he would like to go to other events which congratulate the dedicated service veterans have given.
