A TAVISTOCK shop has helped save 200 tonnes of furniture and 100 tonnes of household appliances from landfill sites in just two years. Staff at the Tavistock branch of ReFurnish collected the 300 tonnes, which was then re-furbished and sold on at affordable prices. The team is proud the project has contributed to making savings to the local community and the environment. ReFurnish employs six people to work in its shop and to drive the vans for collections and deliveries. The shop also provides opportunities for volunteers, with a team of helpers who get experience and training in all aspects of the project's work. For information call ReFurnish on 01822 618822.
