A FIRE crew from Tavistock were called to help rescue a dog who was trapped on the river bank just outside Bedford Car park in Tavistock on Friday evening.

The owner of the Alsation rang the fire service just before 11.30pm saying the dog had fallen off a wall and was trapped on the river bank.

The crew helped the owner with the rescue by using a triple extension ladder.
