CHAGFORD Swimming Pool will be opening to the public this Saturday (May 24) at 2pm for the 2008 season. Maintenance has been on going since early spring in readiness for the opening day. Traditionally entry on opening day is free and anyone who braves the waters is entitled to a free hot chocolate. The water is not heated — the pool is the largest open air pool in the country. However, as the covers have been on for the past few weeks, the water should have soaked up the warm sunshine. Anyone can attend the opening day for a dip in the pool — or even for a cup of tea and a home made cake.
