TAVISTOCK Netball League continued this week with two more exciting games. The first games saw SSG take on the Red Devils. The Red Devils, plagued by injury, began the game with only six players. However, what they missed in quantity they made up for in quality. Every team member gave their all and this was reflected in the score at the end of the first quarter. However, SSG did develop an early lead, which was built upon in the second quarter. Strong defending by SSG?s GK Sally Spratt and GD Lorraine Davies meant Red Devils were given few chances to get back into the game. The final score finishing SSG 39 Red Devils 5. The second game was a highly anticipated match between Delaware and Dodgers. Previously the teams had competed as one however, this season in the Tavistock League, they were able to field two squads. The two teams were evenly matched and the game was extremely close right from the first quarter with only two goals separating the sides. In the second quarter the lead changed hands and scores were kept low thanks to excellent defending by the goal keepers of both teams. The lead changed again in the third quarter and remained with Dodgers until the end of the game. Final score: Dodgers 18 Delaware 15.
