SHOPPERS in Callington could have been forgiven for wondering if they had wandered into an operating theatre instead of their local supermarket last Saturday.
Staff at the new Tesco store donned medical outfits — along with stethoscopes, hairnets and the odd syringe — to help raise money for charity.
Store manager Gary Wills, dressed from head to toe in operating theatre green, said: 'As CLIC Sargent, Tesco's charity of the year, is all about helping children with cancer, we thought it would be fun to dress up as doctors and nurses to raise money and awareness for the cause.
'Our customers and the staff enjoyed it and responded magnificently — and we have more fun events all this week.'
Tesco's Hallowe'en-themed events include leg waxing for male members of staff, a bath of beans and custard for a manager, and face painting for kids.
