AN appeal for old photographs of Tavistock has been issued by a local historian, commissioned by publishers Halsgrove to produce a book on the town.
Gerry Woodcock, who has already written several books about Tavistock, will base the new work on photographs with accompanying text.
Mr Woodcock is appealing to readers of the Times to contact him if they have pictures of the town, its people, buildings, organisations, activities or events that they would be willing to lend him.
Mr Woodcock said: 'It would be helpful if pictures contained such information as approximate dates and names of people featured.
'The most important consideration is that the photographs should illustrate, in some way, some aspects of the life of the local community.'
