THE members of Stoke Climsland Women?s Football Club are all kitted out, thanks to a £500 donation from the Co-op. The team, which plays in Division Two of the Cornwall Women?s League has used the award to buy a new strip which bears the Co-op logo. ?We are a village women?s football team who love what we do. We are delighted with our new kit and are very grateful to the Co-op for its kind donation,? said the club?s secretary Jacki Davy. The Community Dividend fund is part of the Co-operative Group?s Dividend customer loyalty card scheme which allows shoppers to donate the extra pence in their twice-yearly Dividend payouts to worthy causes. Approximately £150,000 is available annually to support charities and community groups in the region with local Co-op members? committees allocating the awards throughout the year based on a set of values and principles such as social responsibility and caring for others. ?The Community Dividend fund can make a real and lasting contribution to local communities and we are delighted to make this award to Stoke Climsland Women?s Football Club. ?Many community groups share our co-operative values and could benefit from an award, and we would certainlywelcome their applications,? said Co-op regional secretary Andrew North.
