aTHE final part of Tavistock Canal's bicentenary celebrations was the handing over of special school information packs at St Mellion Golf Club.
Moira Andrews, of Tavistock Forward, which organised the festivities, presented the chairman of the Tavistock Academic Schools Council, Joe Flynn, with 15 packs containing information and two CD-ROMs about the canal and its history.
Moira, who is head librarian at Tavistock, said the packs were a valuable teaching resource for students of all ages.
She added: 'They contain an interactive walk along the whole length of the canal, including the tunnel, as well as the complete set of panels that made up the highly successful exhibition held in Tavistock during the
summer.'
The packs were made possible through funding from Awards for All, the Tamar Valley Service and South West Water.
Any school in the area that has not yet received a pack should contact Tavistock Library.
