DRIVING rain did not dampen the enthusiasm of children from Milton Abbot School, as they took part in a trail of discovery at Endsleigh House recently.
The blue class at the school is undertaking an environmental arts project and the activities provided by Endleigh Charitable Trust added some hands-on experience to the project.
With Paula Jones, the education ranger at Endsleigh, the children were challenged by different activities to look at nature from a new perspective.
Sometimes even blindfolded, the pupils experienced nature along with plenty of rain, in Endsleigh's famous arboretum.
The class is due to return later in the year, when they will create print blocks as a finale to their project.
Staff at Endsleigh hope many more schools will visit the estate in future, in connection with their studies.
The estate is holding a schools education open week in March, when schools in the area can come and experience first-hand the search education programme at Endsleigh.
The week is being offered free of charge to schools, which can choose from a range of activities on offer, including mini-beast safaris, smell cocktail experiments and an introduction to bats.
