MY?wife and I had the pleasure to attend the Lions Club annual firework display last Saturday. As always, the event was well organised, a brilliant show put on for the townspeople of Tavistock at a modest entrance fee.
I work with a number of Lions Club members on a day-to-day basis and know the time and effort that goes into organising such events in and around our town for our pleasure. Also as we know all money raised is donated to local charities.
At this point, I must stress I am not a Lions Club member.
On entering the display site, I could not but notice what I would estimate to be 70 to 100 people standing outside the site on the pavement to watch the display free of charge.?When you take into account any one of these people could benefit from the charity work that the Lions do for the town, I find this behaviour most disappointing.

I WOULD like to thank the Lions and the Two Tigers for the excellent display last Saturday.
I have not been to the fireworks for many years and for £4 it was well worth it.
