MORE than 100 senior citizens from the Tavistock area enjoyed a three-course dinner courtesy of the Rotary Club of Tavistock recently.

The dinner was held at Tavistock College, with food prepared by the college catering staff and served by Rotarians.

Town mayor Jenny Metcalf attended as guest of honour and club president David Incoll welcomed the guests and said grace. The meal was followed by a sing-song led by local entertainer Ted Clarke with his accordion. Compere Dave Hicks gave out more than 30 raffle prizes donated by the club.

Rotarian Tony Whitehead said it was good to see so many local people enjoying themselves. A good proportion of the cash collected on their stall at Goose Fair and the Christmas collection had paid for the event.

Tony added they were grateful to everyone who had helped at the event, and to Down?s Coaches and Tavistock Area Support Services for transporting guests to and from the college.
