Difficult decision but lights will not shine

I AM writing to you on behalf of my father, John Pearce, of North Road, Okehampton.

Every year he decks out his little bungalow with Christmas lights. He lives next to ATS and every year lots of people stop and look. It's his pride and joy. He has always funded the electricity out of his own pension. This year, however, there won't be any lights and he would like to thank all those people who come every year to see them. The Times even featured the lights.

This has been a difficult decision to make, but once again I would like to say thanks to all those people who enjoyed his little bit of Christmas cheer. Many thanks.
