Cornwood v Bridestowe
WINNING the toss, Cornwood elected to bat on a sunny afternoon.
Determined to clinch third spot, the strong Cornwood side set off at a cracking pace, scoring 63 runs in 12 overs.
With a couple of half chances not going Bridestowe's way, a big score looked possible.
With the removal of Rickard (75) and R Conn (22) the fielding side gradually got the run rate under control and wickets began to fall.
Cornwood were bowled out in the final over for 188, Chris Lavis 2-31, Phil Down 5-39 and Gary Sizmur 2-21.
Bridestowe started their innings and found the going hard under tight bowling from Anderson and Wood. Unfortunately wickets fell regularly and the middle order batsmen failed to score 10 runs between them.
Only a sterling effort from Lavis (96no) kept Bridestowe in the chase until bowled out for 159 runs after 36 overs in near dark conditions. Mansfield 4-29, O'Hea 4-26.
