Pumas 2

TAVISTOCK Pumas mixed hockey played their most determined and controlled game to avenge their earlier defeat by CSD.

From the start the Pumas dominated and it was only a matter of time before striker Judy Smallacombe scored, following excellent interchange play from Phil

Edwards and debutant winger Laura Croft.

The Pumas pressed to extend the lead and great play by Rebecca Hutton and James Alford meant the strikers had ample ball to keep the opposition goalkeeper on his toes.

The Pumas appeared to be in complete control until a heated exchange saw Rob Kirby and a member of the opposition justifiably dispatched to the sin bin to cool down.

CSD have this knack of scoring goals which are pathetic to concede and make the Pumas' defence feel wanting — and this they duly did before the interval — twice.

The enthusiasm and drive of Fiona Dunn rewarded the Pumas with their second goal to level the scores.
