Tavistock v Buckland
LOSING the toss Tavistock were soon under the cosh as Pollard ripped through the top order as he bowled with pace extracting lively bounce out of the wicket.
Supported well by Harris the Buckland pair removed the top 6 Tavistock batsmen with only a paltry 40 runs on the board. Only Goodchild looked like offering any resistance with a couple of nicely timed cover drives, but he too fell to a Harris delivery caught by Pollard.
With the scoring string bowling on, the Tavistock trail rallied by Lethbridge (15no) managed to hang around and see the overs out but then only managing to take the score to a modest 98. The score was not going to be enough for Tavistock, the hard work had been done by the opening Buckland attack with Pollard producing superb figures of 4 for 15.
With a strong battling line up, knocking off 98 was always going to be a formality for Buckland that was just the way it panned out.
A brace of wickets for Folley and a superb run out by the Crowl twins was all that Tavistock could point to in this game as a plus.
It was all very academic though as the powerful batting of Rogers (30) and Simon (39no) soon had the total in sight with the target being reached in less than 20 overs.
Next week Tavistock have another tough game with the visit of free scoring league leaders Calstock.
