I KNOW I've had a go at the BID idea, 'Business Improvement District' before. But how many local businesses can afford to pay an extra levy on top of the rates they are already paying?

What this town is in desperate need of is a coach park so we can get a few more tourists stopping over on their way west. This could easily be found within the Simmons Park car park. We also need some open-air market stalls for the tourists to browse over as they walk through the town. This could easily be done through the middle of Red Lion Yard.

One only has to think of the pannier market in Tavistock to know how much it draws people into town.

None of this is rocket science and wouldn't cost too much to put into practice.
