A TAVISTOCK woman is appealing for information regarding the whereabouts of her pet cat, who went missing from her home just over six weeks ago.

Sarah Cozens said her 12-month-old cat Sapphire, which she has had since she was a kitten, went out one evening from her home in Bishopsmead and didn't return.

After putting posters up of Sapphire across the town, Sarah has received a number of calls from people who have spotted Sapphire, but she has so far been unable to track her down.

'She never usually strays far from home but she didn't come home one morning,' Sarah said.

'She was spotted in Middlemoor and was recently been spotted on Down Road and St David's Road — I sat on Down Road for two hours calling her and shaking her treats but didn't see her.'

Sarah believes that Sapphire can now not find her way back home.

Sarah is disabled and is currently recovering from life-saving surgery and said the stress of losing her beloved pet is affecting her recovery.

'It has been terribly upsetting,' she said.

'It has been constantly on my mind not knowing whether she was dead or stolen. Now I know she's around it is just a case of trying to catch her. I would desperately like her home.'

Sapphire is a part Bengal cat, with a light beige base colour with vivid black stripes and spots. She has a white chest and white paws and is microchipped.
