Tavistock College held a 'learning and achievement evening' for its Year 9 and Year 10 students last week at the Town Hall.

A total of 96 students were nominated to receive awards for their effort and achievement over the past year.

The evening of celebration was attended by the inspiring and motivational guest speaker Ben McBean who gave a fruitful insight into his drive to survive. Heads of year Sonia Fox and Peter Hake ran the evening along with a team of teaching and support staff, who presented awards in subjects such as Japanese, Spanish and psychology.

The overall 'Contribution to College' awards went to Josie Clarke (Y9) and Nicholas Hill (Y10). The organisers congratulated and thanked everyone who attended and to those who helped make this a successful evening.
