TAVISTOCK featured heavily in the recent Royal College of Surgeons Faculty of General Dental Practice (UK) ceremony of diplomates.
The diplomates were all capped and gowned for the presentations which took place at the Royal College of Surgeons in London.
Professor of oral health services research at the Peninsula Dental School in Plymouth David Richard Moles, who lives in Tavistock, received an Honorary Fellowship in General Dental Practice (UK) Ad Eundem. And Dr John Patrick (Paddy) McVeigh from Abbey Mead Dental Practice in Tavistock was awarded the Diploma of Fellowship of the Faculty of General Dental Practice (UK) RCS (ENG). The fellowship is the highest qualification that the faculty can award. It is an award made through examination and peer review in recognition of their excellence in primary dental care.
Paddy McVeigh is one of only a small number of general dental practitioners in the country to have become a fellow of the faculty. It is the culmination of more than five years of study with several examinations.
