A PLAY by the Tavistock Dementia Action Alliance scheduled for today (Thursday) called 'Grandma Remember Me' has unfortunately had to be cancelled.
Tony Parker, chairman of the TDAA, said: 'Unfortunately while we continue to attempt to highlight the issue of dementia and increase awareness and understanding of it, it is a difficult subject.
'Those associated with it don't really want to see a play about it and those not associated don't want to think about the subject.
'There was insufficient interest shown in the play to make it viable although we do thank co-sponsors Tavistock Rotary and Hansford Bell in West Street in supporting our work.
'It is sad we had to cancel the play but we recognise that the stigma of dementia still exists and it is part of our work in Tavistock to help remove it.'
