TRAFFIC was ground to a halt along Tavistock?s high street last Thursday after 19 tons of floor screed was deposited into the middle of Tavistock?s Brook Street. The material was due to be delivered at 8am but a gear problem with the lorry delayed delivery. This resulted in the screed being brought outside the former Arcade during the lunch time rush hour. Although it caused a queue of traffic, one trader from Dartmoor Country Clothes saw the funny side of the event and said: ?If this had been done by women it would have been all organised and sorted.?
