Students at Callington Community College have achieved excellent results in their GCSE examinations.
Students achieved 100% A*-C grades in BTEC qualifications. — 85% of all students gained five or more A*-C GCSE grades.
The three-year trend of GCSE students achieving five or more A*-C grades, including English and mathematics, has risen to more than 60%. Year 11 students also achieved 98% pass rate at AS level; 60% of grades were A*-C.
Headteacher Gary Lobbett said: 'I am absolutely delighted by our students' achievements. So many young people across Years 10 and 11 have met and surpassed their challenging targets and personal goals. Their commitment, positive attitudes and hard work are an inspiration to us all.
'I am very proud of all our students and of the teaching and support teams at the college who guide and encourage students throughout the year. Congratulations to everyone involved.'
He congratulated Daniel Garlick, who achieved nine A* and two A grades,and Callum Mackellar and Natasha Carslaw, who achieved seven A* and three A grades.
Congratulations also went to Olivia Brown, who gained five A grades, Henrique Whitley who gained four A* and six A grades, Jessica Downing who achieved four A* and three A grades and Luke Hewison, Clarissa Barkess, Bethany Thomson, Emily Yendle and Stephanie Wiltshire who all achieved four A* grades and further qualifications.
