A RECENT competition run in the Times to win a luxury stay at the Horn of Plenty restaurant at Gulworthy has received an unprecedented response, with hundreds of entries from people as far away as France and the Home Counties!

But there could only be one winner, and that was Delia Perkins of Plymouth Road, Tavistock.

Mrs Perkins correctly identified that Peter Gorton is 37 years old, produced 5,000 Christmas puddings last year and owns the Carved Angel restaurant at Dartmouth.

Mrs Perkins was delighted to find out she'd won the competition.

'Wow — that's wonderful, I can't believe it!' she said.

Mrs Perkins will be taking her husband to enjoy dinner, bed and breakfast at The Horn of Plenty.

'I think he'd be pretty cheesed off if I didn't!,' she said.

Co-incidentally, Mrs Perkins runs a bed and breakfast business herself — and Peter Gorton stayed with her when he originally applied for a job at The Horn.
