TAVISTOCK?s Netball League got off to a lively start last Sunday, with matches featuring both established and newly formed teams.

The first game saw newcomers, the Red Devils, face more experienced team Delaware.

Both teams got off to an excellent start. But experience came through with Delaware taking an early lead. The Red Devils gained more confidence as the game continued but outstanding play from Delaware?s shooters saw them pull further ahead, leaving the final score Red Devils 11, Delaware 42.

The second game also saw a new team, the Blue Angels, pitched against a more experienced league squad of Rentafford.

Both teams began well, but again it was the more experienced side that took an early lead. Blue Angels battled hard, but Rentafford?s goal-shooter, who was later nominated player of the match, stamped her mark on the game, helping to bring the final score to Rentafford 35, Blue Angels 8.
