South West Peninsula League division one east Okehampton Argyle 0 Totnes and Dartington 0 OKEHAMPTON continued their good run of form and held high flying Totnes and Dartington with another gritty performance. Argyle's defence were once again superb and after a few poor performances early in the season they now look a good unit, only conceding one goal in the last three games and picking up a valuable seven points out of a possible nine in the process. The first half flowed from end to end in difficult conditions without really creating any clear-cut chances for either side. In the first 30 minutes the best chance of the game came when Argyle's Adam Mortimer found himself in space and tried to round the keeper. In doing so he was brought down and the referee pointed to the penalty spot. Up stepped Robbie Miller to smash the ball to the keeper's left, but somehow the visiting keeper tipped the ball onto the upright and away to safety. Argyle continued to work hard for each other, and in fairness looked the more likely to score right up to the interval. Argyle started with promising prospect Matt Sanders making his first full team debut on the right wing. The second half saw the visitors come straight at Argyle and Daniel Malcolm in the home goal had to be at his best on a pitch that started to break up a bit as the game went on. Argyle worked hard all over the pitch and matched their opponents in every department. l This week Okehampton Argyle are at home to Alphington, kicking off at 2.45pm.
