Carlsberg South Western League Bodmin Town 3 Tavistock 0 THE Lambs? recent mini revival came to an end at Priory Park with a defeat against the probable league runners up. Not to concede an early goal were the instructions but they got off to the worst possible start when that is exactly what happened. Only two minutes were played when slack marking in the area allowed Nigel Thwaites time to pick his spot. But the Lambs responded after fifteen minutes with Mark Wall and Paul Adcock combining to set up Will Westlake. But his shot lacked any real power to trouble Sid Taylor in the Bodmin goal. Just two minutes later it was the turn of James Steer to have a shot at goal but again the shot lacked power. The Lambs were too often guilty of giving the ball away too easily to allow the home side to attack for long periods. Danny O?Hagan had the ball in the Lambs? net after twenty five minutes but his effort was ruled out for offside. It would have been a good first half if the Lambs went in at half time just one down but they succumbed to a second just prior to the interval when Andy Watkins ghosted into the area unmarked to slot home. Andy Meeds did well to save from Watkins at the start of the second half. Steer shot well over and from a quick throw in Mark Conday?s turn and shot had Taylor moving swiftly across his goal to save. Meeds saved again from O? Hagan before Bodmin got their third with ten minutes remaining. Meeds did well to parry away a shot from Thwaites after a corner but Jan Volejnik was the only one to react to slot the ball home from close range. Conceding the early goal did not help the Lambs? cause and when their chances came they did not convert them but they did not disgrace themselves. Next Saturday sees another crucial game when they take on Torpoint who are just three points above them but have three games in hand on the Lambs. It is a must win game if they are to give themselves any chance of seeking re-election. Forthcoming Fixtures: Tomorrow (Friday) Tavistock Under 18s v Callington Colts 6-30pm.
